Renewable energy projects in Mississauga
We know you're as concerned about the environment as we are. As environmental awareness
increases, we depend on partnerships with local businesses to help us respond to
these concerns. We're involved in a number of innovative conservation projects in
Mississauga, and we continue to look for more opportunities to help our city conserve
energy and protect our resources.
At the Clarkson Wastewater Treatment Facility, we installed nine photovoltaic
solar flairs which convert sunlight into clean, renewable electricity.
At the Hershey Centre, we've partnered with the City of Mississauga
to install 144 rooftop solar panels. It's the largest solar panel installation on
a city building. At peak output, the panels produce 25 kilowatts of electricity.
This will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25,000 kilograms per year over 25 years.
You can also monitor the solar energy production
online which is great way to become educated about renewable energy.
