Enersource Cleans Up for Earth Day
Mississauga, Ontario - Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Enersource Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in Earth Day 2009 by adopting the Grand Park Woodlot as part of the LitterNot Program offered by the City of Mississauga.
“We are committed to our environmental role and our participation in the LitterNot program is a demonstration of this ongoing commitment to keep Mississauga clean for all to enjoy.” said Craig Fleming, President and CEO of Enersource Corporation.
The Grand Park Woodlot is located on the east side of Mavis Road between Dundas Street West and Central Parkway West. Enersource will be conducting a minimum of three clean-ups per year at this site. The City graciously provides the necessary training, safety equipment and garbage bags for the garbage pick-up. To recognize Enersource’s efforts, a sign will be erected at the adopted location. For more information about the City of Mississauga's LitterNot Campaign visit www.mississauga.ca/litternot or call 905-896-5000.
In another Earth Day activity, as part of Enersource’s Habitat for Humanity Mississauga lead sponsorship, employees will be collecting their blue to get green! Enersource is participating in Project Denim – a donation drive led by Habitat for Humanity Mississauga and Square One. Project Denim collects unwanted jeans and denim that will be recycled into an environmentally friendly alternative to fiberglass home insulation. Residents can drop off unwanted jeans and denim articles at the Enersource main office.
Enersource announced a $100,000 commitment last year towards the inaugural Habitat for Humanity home building project in Mississauga. For more details on the home build and Project Denim visit www.habitatmississauga.ca.
