Customer Service Representative
Customer Service plays a vital role at Enersource. Our representatives interact
directly with our customers to make sure we meet our customer needs. Using our state-of-the-art
electronic customer care and billing (CC&B) system, our representatives respond
effectively to customers' enquiries and service requests, resolving customers'
problems and documenting their feedback.
For this role, you will possess post-secondary education, strong communication skills,
solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, and you'll be proficient using
computers.
Bill Production Coordinator
A Bill Production Coordinator helps coordinate relationships involving Enersource
and energy retailers. For this role, you'll need strong math and customer service
skills combined with post-secondary education.
Business Analyst
Our Business Analysts work with Customer Service and other departments like billing
to maintain customers' files and keep them up-to-date, as well as implement
changes to our business processes and systems. You'll also provide training
to front line staff. You will need strong analytical and negotiation skills, a post-secondary
degree in computers or business, and a solid understanding of database software
and Microsoft® Office products: Word®, Excel®,
PowerPoint®, and Outlook®.
Information Technology (IT)
IT is part of just about everything we do at Enersource, from delivering energy
services and managing electricity distribution to communicating with our customers.
To support these areas, we rely on highly-skilled professionals with specialized
skills in:
- Application development
- System / network administration
- Technical support
For these positions, you'll need:
- A Bachelor degree or a comparable education in information technology
- The ability to perform user-needs analysis and prepare specifications
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Solid organizational skills involving many tasks
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Engineering
Engineers help keep our electrical distribution system running smoothly. They plan
the maintenance of the system and the design of new infrastructure such as overhead
and underground networks and substations.
For these positions, you'll need:
- An electrical engineering degree
- Advanced computer skills, including an ability to learn new software systems
- The ability to work independently in a demanding work environment with challenging
production timelines
- Good planning, organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills

Finance
Our finance team works to make sure our company remains financially sound and accountable,
and meets industry and financial standards. Finance helps develop and guide
our long-term financial planning. Positions in finance include:

For these positions, you'll need:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
- A proven ability to analyze, interpret and communicate financial information for
all levels of management as well as regulatory authorities
- Experience in financial-management and regulated-statutory reporting

- The ability to interpret financial information for both financial and non-financial
readers
- Solid decision-making and strategic-planning skills
Journeyman Lineman/Cableman
Our Journeymen Linemen and Journeymen Cablemen build and maintain our electrical
distribution infrastructure. They are central to our operations. We also offer an
apprentice program that provides training and experience leading to qualification
as a journeyman.
To be considered for a journeyman position, you will need:
- MEA certification, or equivalent, as a Power Lineman/Cableman
- Grade 12 education or equivalent job-related experience
- Thorough knowledge of overhead and underground construction and maintenance practices
up to the 44kv level
- Excellent physical condition and the ability to work confidently at heights of up
to 70' above ground
- A valid Class "DZ" driver's license with the ability to acquire an
"A" Class license
- First Aid and CPR Certification
Meter Technician
Meter Technicians install, test, analyze and repair single and three-phase meters
as well as complex meter installation systems. Their work ensures the accurate measurement
of electricity used by customers that can then be recorded in our billing system.
To be considered for a journeyman position, you will need:
- A Certified Technician diploma and C. Tech designation
- An Electrical Distribution Association (EDA) Metering certificate or equivalent
trade program
- A minimum of three years' experience at the journeyman technician level
- Sound knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Good physical condition and the ability to lift weights up to 70 lbs
- General computer skills to understand and operate metering programs
Substation Technician
Substations link Ontario's high-voltage transmission system to our distribution
system. Our Substation Technicians are highly-skilled tradesmen who construct, commission
and repair substation equipment. They maintain SCADA systems and program protection
relays.
To be considered for a journeyman position, you will need:
- An electrical/electronics technology diploma and C.E.T. designation
- MEA certification as a Substation Technician
- Experience with microprocessors and data communications
- Good physical condition and the ability to work in extreme temperatures
- A driver's license
- First aid and CPR certification
Applicants with lesser qualifications may be considered at the apprenticeship level.
System Control Operators
Our System Control Operators ensure the safe and reliable operation of the electrical
distribution network on a 24-hour basis. They use our SCADA system to effectively
manage our network, respond to customer enquiries and dispatch our trouble-response
teams.
To be considered for a journeyman position, you will need:
- An electrical/electronics technology diploma and C.E.T. designation
- An Electrical Distribution Association (EDA) Operator certificate
- A minimum of three years experience at the Journeyman level
- Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills
- Superior computer skills including knowledge of SCADA and AM/FM
- The ability to work rotating shifts
