Streetlight Plans

About Our Rebuilding Program

Enersource is currently undertaking a multi-year plan to upgrade the street lighting system in areas of Mississauga where aging cables and/or obsolete parts have led to a reduction in reliability and an increase in maintenance calls. In general, these projects involve the installation of new concrete poles, complete with energy efficient street lighting fixtures mounted on an aluminum bracket and the removal of the existing street lighting system.

During planned lighting upgrades the “cobra head” lighting style, used extensively throughout Mississauga, is provided at no cost to residents. Other decorative options are available on a user-pay basis. The various options are described on our information sheet entitled "Street Lighting Replacement Program"
