Enersource’s Watt Reader Program helps customers measure, conserve energy
Ever wonder how much power the appliances in your home use? This summer, find out with Enersource Hydro Mississauga’s Watt Reader Loan Program.
Did you know?
- The Watt Reader Loan Program offers Enersource customers a free and easy way to measure the amount of energy used by common home appliances such as computers and televisions;
- Taking advantage of the Watt Reader Program is as easy as signing out a book from the library. Mississauga residents can visit the city’s Central Library to pick-up a device today;
- To use the Watt Reader, customers should plug any electrically powered device into the socket on the front, plug the Watt Reader into an electrical outlet and use the appliance as per usual. Detailed instructions are provided with each Watt Reader package explaining how to measure how much power was used;
- Enersource customers will also receive two free, energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs with their Watt Reader kit; and
- To date, more than 7,000 Mississauga residents have borrowed a Watt Reader device from participating city libraries.
