Enersource Gears Up For Summer Rebuilds

This summer, Enersource Hydro Mississauga (Enersource) will once again be focusing on rebuilding its distribution infrastructure to maintain its legacy of world class system reliability.

Throughout the summer months, Enersource crews will be working on overhead and underground rebuild projects across the city.  With over 15 major projects on the go, crews are taking advantage of the warmer temperatures and additional daylight hours to complete the projects as soon as possible with work slated to continue on some of the larger projects into the fall.

“Rebuild projects are a strategic investment – they’re an opportunity for Enersource to enhance our distribution system performance so that we can continue to provide our customers with safe, reliable service,” Dan Pastoric, Executive Vice President and COO, Enersource Hydro Mississauga.

In 2009, Enersource invested $19 million to improve distribution system reliability and another $11 million to address customer and load growth.

Making sure residents stay informed is also a priority for Enersource. Customers in affected rebuild areas will receive advance notification prior to the start of a project about the time and duration of the project and all planned power outages.  It’s our intention to carry out this work with the least possible inconvenience to residents.

To find out if there are any rebuild projects scheduled in your neighbourhood this summer, take a look at the list below or learn more online at: www.enersource.com/rebuilds. This list will be refreshed regularly as new projects arise.
