Mississauga utility meets world-class environmental standard, obtains ISO 14001 status
Building on a tradition of operational excellence, Enersource Corporation is pleased to announce that it has achieved ISO 14001:2004 certification, a world class environmental standard.
Enersource obtained ISO 14001 earlier this month after meeting the rigorous criteria required by the ISO standards body.
Enersource is one of the few utilities in Ontario to obtain the internationally-recognized status – an accomplishment that Enersource President & CEO Craig Fleming says speaks to the organization’s ongoing commitment to excellence and the environment.
"Enersource has a strong environmental conscience and prides itself on superior performance in this regard," said Fleming. "We believe that environmental stewardship is a vital aspect of delivering on our commitment to sustainability."
Added Fleming, "This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Enersource employees and their commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment now and into the future."
What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001: 2004 is part of a family of worldwide environmental management standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO 14001 standard represents a core set of standards used by organizations globally and addresses various aspects of environmental management.
