The Opportunity
Manager, Health and Safety
Enersource Hydro Mississauga has an opportunity for a Manager, Health and Safety to join the Health and Safety team. This is a new position reporting to the Director, Health, Safety and Security.
The Manager, Health and Safety will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a cohesive Health and Safety Management System as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations. You will participate in the Accident/Incident Investigation process and the WSIB claims management process including coordination of modified work programs. As a resource to Managers, Supervisors and employees, you will provide training, communications and support on any issues related to health and safety.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Health and Safety or equivalent experience and certification
- Minimum 7 years relevant experience gained through increasingly responsible positions preferably in a regulated environment
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- Experience with Health and Safety Management Systems
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Effective leadership and relationship skills
- Superior presentation skills working with large audiences
- Sound judgment, analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Computer proficiency is essential
